The Colorado Center for Gynecologic Oncology is excited to welcome Dr. Emily Landers. Dr. Landers starts this week at CCGYN, and we are so happy to have her here with us. Read below to find out about the newest addition to our wonderful team!
Dr. Emily Landers earned her Bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from the University of Georgia and obtained her medical doctorate at The Medical College of Georgia. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham, and a three-year fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of California, Los Angeles. During her two years at UCLA, she performed more than 350 advanced minimally-invasive surgeries and completed the Minimally Invasive Surgery Academy course for robotic surgery. Dr. Landers has been published in many peer-reviewed research journals and books. She published original work related to cervical cancer screening and diagnosis and co-authored multiple other cervical cancer and robotic surgery-related publications. She also dedicated a year to research in the Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics group at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, performing research on tumor genetics and how this relates to treatment outcomes in ovarian cancer.
Her clinical interests include minimally-invasive surgery (both traditional laparoscopic and robotic surgery), sentinel lymph node dissection, cancer prevention, cancer genetics, cervical dysplasia and cervical cancers. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, training her Goldendoodle puppy, going to concerts and sporting events, hiking and skiing.
