September is recognized as ovarian cancer awareness month. To raise awareness we are asking people wear teal to show their support as an ally and survivor. Newscasters are joining in to support the cause on September 6th. Don’t forget to wear your teal this Friday in Colorado to help bring awareness!
We’ve asked TV newscasters in Denver, Colorado Springs and Grand Junction to wear teal on Friday, September 6th. If you see them on air, thank them via Facebook and Twitter for helping us Raise Awareness!
We “pitch” ovarian cancer related stories to TV stations in Denver and Grand Junction (the Sue DiNapoli Ovarian Cancer Society covers Colorado Springs) as well as local radio stations and newspapers. Our goal is to get stories out there that help spread awareness of risk factors and symptoms. We’re proud to say that we’ve had GREAT success with this effort!
And Colorado State Senate and House Members have also been asked to wear a teal ribbons on their lapels on September 6th to show their support.
